WMF Function 4 Pasta/Stock Pot with Lid, 9-Quart

Good stuff
Received my WMF pot, cooked a pound of spaghetti..had to use a low power of two and a half on my stove after bringing water to a boil, very efficient steel,i think the silicone helps quite a bit keeping in the heat, heat control as good as my copper peices.
the straining works as advertised, lid stays in place while straining out water, the silicon rubber around the lid is very thick and heavy duty, impressive,i was never a fan of anything silicone till now.Handles stay cool, the rim gets hot if you place your thumbs to hold the lid while straining out water,
but you really don't have to touch the rim after some practice, lid stays put well, the last bit of water evaporates and spaghetti is dry from the heat left in the thick bottom of the pot before your eyes in seconds, pretty cool.
Only thing i found not up to snuff is the dimensions...this pot is 10 inches tall, not 14 inches as specified in the description..but 10" is more than enough for spaghetti,so
i'm actually happy...

Best. Pasta. Pot. Ever.
We purchased this WMF pasta/stock pot 3 months ago, primarily for use as a stock pot. Ironic, because it's turned out to be the best spaghetti/pasta pot we have ever owned. It boils evenly, fits great in our cabinet (it's shorter and therefore wider than our prior 8 or 10 quart pots, which makes it *much* easier to store), is not crazy heavy or thin & flimsy, is made so well that it will last for years. Decades. And the lid - the lid is the brilliant part. Yes, we still use hot pads when removing the lid or draining. If we're boiling spaghetti or another thin pasta, we have a strainer in the sink cause a few will escape even the tiny holes. But that's overkill. You could easily use just the lid to drain pasta to exactly the right amount of moistness (not wanting it to be bone dry), not stress the 10 strands of lost angel hair, and figure out how to hold the lid so you don't need hot pads. We're too lazy for that :).

It's expensive, yes. But it's a bargain when you...

highly efficient
this high quality pot saves so much room in the dishwasher compared with a similar pot and pasta insert, worth every penny
